Sittin’ with the OldOld man when the evening came tonight. He asks me about tomorrow’s luncheon. I try to tell him:
“Most all that stuff you talk about goes right over my head,”
…he likes to tell me during commercial breaks of the O’Reilly Factor.
Now the OldOld man has been retired nearly twenty years, hasn’t touched a computer in a decade and enjoys letting the money work for him. He doesn’t really want to know about technology unless it gets our unemployment under control and our economy stabilized.
It’s Good to Be the King
Now retired patriarchs might not be the target audience of our luncheon, but as for the rest of us who live in Northwest Indiana, work in Northwest Indiana & want to galvanize a seemingly disjointed business community, and has a little Internet markeing savvy, the October 2011 #NWITweetup is a must-attend event.
But If You Can’t Attend
If the stars won’t line up for you to make the event, here’s the cliff notes of what you’ll miss so as to prepare you for the next event.
- Free lunch with Subway, homemade potato salad & desserts, and soft drinks – sponsored by #NWITweetup, Certified Home Inspections & Innovative Cleaning
- An introduction to an online community-building project – Me, Daver, #NWITweetup, Cartronix, AT&T Wireless, ValpoLife.com, Gosser Corporate Sales & Golden Technologies (yeah – we left on good terms) have initially agreed on a community building project to provide Northwest Indiana with an online resource to help local businesses learn how to access & excel in their industries’ online markets. We plan to introduce the project during the luncheon. We also will demonstrate how you & your business can have a part in the project.
It might be the first time the local businesses in Lake, Porter, & LaPorte County, Indiana have worked together on a community project, well, ever.
